American officials told The Washington Post that the Pentagon is preparing for weeks of ground activity in Iran. This comes after the U.S. military's Central Command (CENTCOM) announced yesterday evening that a task force of 3,500 Marines and sailors aboard the USS Tripoli has arrived in the Middle East. According to those officials, this will not be a full-scale invasion, but rather raids by special forces and additional troops. One of them said these operations will likely take "weeks, not months" to complete, while another estimated the potential timeline as "a few months." The report stated that it is not clear at this time whether President Donald Trump intends to approve all, some or none of the Pentagon's plans.
