The National Infrastructure Committee approved the start of work on the fourth railway track in Ayalon, set to begin next summer, after a delay of approximately 15 years from the original targets. This is a project designed to resolve the central bottleneck of the rail network and enable future additions of trains and significant improvement in service frequency. The committee clarified that at this stage, only the work planned for summer 2026 has been approved, alongside continued advancement of drainage solutions and flood protection in the Ayalon area.
