Head of Planning and Human Resources Administration Division in the IDF, Brigadier General Shai Tayeb, said during a Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee discussion on the conscription exemption law that "we need a model that ensures people fit for combat and combat support, and the right approach is to do this with an age-based model." He explained: "Without a model that considers who arrives, it will be difficult to match what we need with who comes in."
