Brother of Noam Mesgadian who fell in Gaza: 'He could have avoided enlistment - but chose Netzach Yehuda'

Roy Mesgadian, brother of Staff Sergeant Noam Mesgadian who fell in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza Strip, spoke about him in an interview with ynet studio, saying: "He could certainly have avoided enlistment, but he chose to follow the path of Netzach Yehuda." According to him, "It's not simple. When they are essentially young soldiers without much experience and straight from training - boom, they're sent to Gaza. When the war broke out, there was discussion about drafting ultra-Orthodox, and during that period they put 'Netzach Yehuda' on the front line. Many of my friends and I personally thought they might be looking for some kind of 'X' on an ultra-Orthodox person, to say 'See, they're participating.'"
