The Knesset plenum approved the 'Western Wall Law' in a preliminary reading. According to the proposal, all Western Wall areas, including the southern plaza, will be subject to the policy of Israel's Chief Rabbis and prayer will be conducted according to Orthodox custom only. 56 Knesset members supported the proposal, 47 opposed.
