A preliminary investigation into the incident in which Res. Staff Sgt. Alexander Pilin was killed yesterday reveals that an improvised explosive device detonated during ground operations by a force from the deputy commander of the 36th Division's headquarters in the Litani River area. The deputy division commander, a reserve battalion commander in the 556th Transport Brigade and another reserve fighter were moderately wounded in the incident. Following the incident, terror infrastructure in the area was attacked using artillery fire.
