Most detailed account of Mojtaba Khamenei's condition: 'Lost a leg, face disfigured'

|
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is still recovering from the assassination attempt he survived in the opening strike of the war. According to three sources close to Khamenei's inner circle who spoke with Reuters, the attack severely disfigured his face and left "significant damage" to both legs or at least one of them. However, the sources noted, Khamenei remains sharp and participates in meetings with senior officials via audio calls. According to Reuters, this is the most detailed account of Khamenei's condition. A source involved in U.S. intelligence assessments told Reuters that Khamenei most likely lost his leg. One of the sources noted that photos of Khamenei may be released within a month or two, and there is a possibility the Supreme Leader will appear in public by then.
