The legal advisor to the President's office, Attorney Michal Tzuk, approached the Pardons Department at the Justice Ministry with a request for additional clarifications regarding the examination of the pardon request concerning Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The President's office stated that it requested from the Pardons Department "clarifications regarding precedents in exercising pardon authority before the completion of criminal proceedings," as well as "clarifications regarding discrepancies between the opinions that were submitted."
