U.S. President Donald Trump said he will grant a pardon to former Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez. He announced this on his social media platform Truth Social. Hernandez is serving a 45-year prison sentence in the U.S. for drug trafficking and weapons possession. A jury determined about a year ago that Hernandez used his country's army and police and took part in smuggling 400 tons of cocaine.
