Journalists Union: 'The proposal to dismantle public broadcasting - lethal to press freedom'

|
The Journalists Union expressed its opposition to the bill to privatize the Corporation's news, stating that "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his envoy Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi decided that the most urgent mission after the war with Iran is dismantling public broadcasting. This improper bill is unconstitutional, unreasonable, lethal to press freedom and destroys Israeli democracy." According to the union, "The proposal joins numerous initiatives and statements by the Prime Minister and his ministers that seek to eliminate free press in Israel."
