The Magistrate's Court in Nazareth extended by four days the detention of a police officer holding the rank of Chief Inspector, serving in the Coastal District, who is suspected of assaulting his wife who suffers from a severe disability. The officer's attorney said: 'This is a regular argument like what happens between a husband and wife, which escalated to shouting. This is a respected officer who knows the law and did not commit a crime, did not assault his wife and did not threaten her. The case is still in its initial stage. He is cooperating with the Department of Internal Police Investigations, handed over his phone to them and part of the incident is documented, which could exonerate him of all blame.'
