The Gaza Peace Council has proposed a $2.45 billion reconstruction plan for the Strip to be implemented over six months. The decision was made at the Council's meeting in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and includes 66 initial projects. The Council stated that "the need is enormous. Reconstruction of the damage throughout Gaza is estimated at approximately $35.2 billion and an additional $71.4 billion is intended for the next decade."
