Police Commissioner: 'Murders aren't everything, they used to be nobody's concern'

|
Police Commissioner Danny Levy made a series of unusual statements during an emergency meeting with district commanders. Ynet has learned that during the meeting, he said, among other things, that 'murder is brutal, but it's not everything,' claimed that 'the police's results in fighting crime over the past five years are the best ever,' and declared that 'seizing weapons does not lead to a decrease in shooting incidents and murders.' He also addressed the media coverage of murder cases and told the district commanders: 'For many years there were murders in Arab society and it was nobody's concern, not even at the end of the newscast. Today it opens newscasts, also driven by agendas.'
