Israel's consul in New York, Ophir Akunis, visited the Nova party site in the Gaza border area and amid international criticism of Israel during the war said: "World leaders have forgotten what Hamas terrorists did here to young women and partygoers. We will make sure to remind them." Akunis, together with the AJC organization, is leading a delegation of consul generals from New York to Israel, including consuls from Argentina, Bulgaria and Serbia. Akunis said: "Crimes against humanity were committed in this place: rape followed by brutal murder of young women, burning of bodies and dismemberment - there are leaders who have forgotten this."
