Hostage survivor Alma Or, who was kidnapped at age 13 and whose father Dror was killed in Gaza, said, "The terrorists who held us captive abused us and tried to frighten us all the time. The scariest thing, worse than any physical pain, was when they told us that we weren't wanted in Israel. Some things can't be changed anymore, but bringing my father back for the burial he so deserves is still possible. The fallen hostages must return so we can close this chapter, so we can rehabilitate, so I can go back to being a child." She addressed the living hostages remaining in Gaza: "Don't believe what the terrorists tell you. We want you. The entire nation is waiting for you. Stay strong."
