The Ministry of Environmental Protection and Ministry of Health updated that mosquitoes infected with West Nile fever virus were caught in Bat Hefer, and that one patient was confirmed in central Israel. This was stated in their announcement, noting that "the mosquitoes were caught in the green basins in the Emek Hefer Regional Council. This is the third capture this year – after previous reports received from Hevel Eilot and Eilat. We call on the public to protect themselves according to guidelines, dry out standing water sources and cooperate with the authorities."
