Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published his responses to questions from the state comptroller as part of the comptroller's investigation into the events of Oct. 7, which was halted by a High Court of Justice decision. The full document includes 55 pages, but many parts of it are redacted. Following his presentation of his version of the massacre's events to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee and later to the cabinet, Netanyahu claimed that "when I presented the matters, there was shock among many, because they were exposed to countless things that are completely opposite to what they heard in the media." Among other things, Netanyahu attributed responsibility and blame for the massacre to the disengagement from the Gaza Strip, and to the intelligence and security agencies that "did not pass information to the prime minister that could have indicated a different reality."
