National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir responded to Police Commissioner Danny Levi's decision to reinstate Chief Superintendent Moalem, former commander of the Judea and Samaria Central Unit, to the police force, saying: "I welcome Police Commissioner Danny Levi's decision to return Chief Superintendent Avishai Moalem to service." He added: "He is a highly regarded, experienced officer who worked for many years for the security of Israeli citizens. Chief Superintendent Moalem suffered persecution from the Shin Bet security service. I believe in his innocence and am confident he will be promoted in rank - as befitting someone who acted with integrity and dedication."
