Sergeant Yishai Elyakim Orbach and Sergeant First Class Yam Fried, whom the IDF spokesperson permitted to identify as the two soldiers who fell yesterday in southern Gaza Strip, were killed in two separate incidents in Rafah. The first incident, in which Orbach fell, occurred yesterday afternoon when a building collapsed on soldiers inside it, apparently due to RPG fire. The second incident, in which Fried was killed, took place several hours later, around 16:50, when a Namer armored personnel carrier either hit an explosive device or was struck by anti-tank fire.
