Tunisia: Jewish jewelry store owner attacked with axe in Djerba, hospitalized but not in danger

|
A Jewish man (50) was wounded in an axe attack in Djerba, Tunisia, and hospitalized. The local Jewish community leader, Rene Trabelsi, reported this to AP news agency. According to him, there are no details about the attacker, while the victim owns a jewelry store. Trabelsi emphasized that he does not conclude this was a religiously motivated attack, or one connected to the upcoming Lag BaOmer holiday, during which thousands of Jews are expected to arrive in Djerba. Trabelsi noted that the attacked man will be discharged from the hospital later today, after sustaining "defensive wounds."
