Pope Leo XIV called on the international community to help stop the war in Gaza and secure the release of hostages from Hamas captivity. "I once again make a firm appeal - to put an end to the conflict that has caused so much terror, destruction and death in the Holy Land," the Pope said in his weekly sermon at the Vatican. "I implore that all hostages be released, that a permanent ceasefire be achieved, that humanitarian aid be allowed to safely enter Gaza and that international law be respected."
