Regev: Flights departing only from Monday, decision on Sabbath flights up to Defense Minister

|
Transportation Minister Miri Regev held a press conference regarding the evacuation of Israelis from abroad and said that for now, "there are no flights departing due to conflict restrictions," but clarified that flights will begin on Monday according to established criteria. According to her, "Priority will be given to diplomats, sports delegations and tourist groups, and only then Israelis. Of course, humanitarian and medical cases will also be included." She added that she instructed that "any time window during the weekend that allows evacuation flights should be utilized. If El Al decides to give up its slots during the Sabbath - they will be transferred to another company. This is under review by the defense establishment, and only the Defense Minister can direct the company to operate on the Sabbath in case of life-threatening emergency."
