|
Turkish prosecutors filed indictments against 402 people, including Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu - considered a rival of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was arrested about six months ago on suspicion of corruption offenses and aiding terrorist organizations - charges he denied. Turkish prosecutors noted that the indictment covers a period of 10 years, and found "damage to the state worth 160 billion Turkish lira." The prosecutor demanded more than 2,000 years in prison for Imamoglu.
