Amid the war between the U.S. and Iran, former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett argued at the ynet and Yedioth Ahronoth National Security Conference, in collaboration with the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), that Israel can topple the ayatollahs' regime. "The answer is more complex than just yes. The Iranian regime, with or without connection to Israel, is a regime destined to fall; the issue is that it can take a very long time. There was unequivocally a missed window of opportunity because Israel and the Netanyahu government did not take the necessary actions in preparation for striking Iran. For example, internet continuity should have been ensured. Every time there is a wave of protests in Iran, they shut down the internet and that shuts down the wave because there is no way to communicate with each other and with the world."
