According to an initial IDF investigation, the Iranians launched approximately 20 rockets between 4:58 AM and 7:11 AM. The IDF stated that a sequence of fire targeted the entire country, with limited distribution of individual missiles - each barrage aimed at a different area. Initially, the fire was directed at the Dimona area, then toward northern Israel, and finally toward the south again. Each barrage included only a few launches, and the Home Front Command issued three separate instructions this morning for entering and exiting protected spaces. The IDF says, "We didn't know exactly how all the fire would look, and the Home Front Command erred when it completely released restrictions after the first barrage and then closed again."
