Aid to be airdropped into Gaza, security officials: 'There is no starvation there. There is a difficult situation and massive overcrowding'

|
Security officials responded to criticism directed at Israel regarding the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, claiming that "Hamas is using the starvation narrative. The organization is preparing for the moment after a deal and has identified that the Gazan public blames it for the situation. It is very afraid that Gazans will turn against it." The officials added that "about 2 million Gazans live mainly in about 25% of the area, that's crowding, and therefore the difficulty is great. There is a difficult situation in Gaza but from there to starvation and deliberate starving? That's not happening." The officials also noted that after opening the Egyptian and Jordanian routes, soon aid airdrops from Jordan will resume - and later also from the United Arab Emirates.
