A woman in her 50s and her 10-year-old son died in a fire that broke out in a three-story building on Emek Beit Shean Street in Modiin-Maccabim-Reut. Police have opened an investigation into the circumstances. Fire and Rescue Services reported that firefighters were dispatched to the scene and observed black smoke coming from the apartment. During their search inside, they found the two unconscious, extracted them and transferred them for medical treatment. MDA teams pronounced them dead at the scene.
