European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that she will again propose to the European Union to partially suspend the Association Agreement with Israel, as well as impose sanctions on "extremist Israeli ministers." In a State of the Union address to the EU Parliament in Strasbourg, von der Leyen said the Commission intends to suspend bilateral support to Israel, without affecting ties with civil society and "Yad Vashem." She added that the Commission plans to establish a donor group for Palestinians next month.
