Italy to also investigate Defense Minister Katz and IDF chief's involvement in 'abduction' of Gaza flotilla activists

|
The Italian prosecutor's office named Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and other senior Israeli officials in the context of a criminal investigation being conducted in Rome against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, alleging kidnapping and torture of Gaza flotilla activists. This was reported by the Italian news agency ANSA, which also translated the report into English. The flotilla activists included about 50 Italian citizens, and several citizens approached the prosecutor general in Rome demanding an investigation into the complaints. Italian President Sergio Mattarella told ANSA that 'the Israeli minister has reached the lowest level.'
