U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth received the casket of the seventh American service member killed in the war with Iran, Staff Sergeant Benjamin Pennington, at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware. At the outbreak of the war, Pennington was critically wounded in an Iranian strike on Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia and died from his injuries days later. The six other American service members killed in the war were killed in a drone strike on a base in Kuwait.
