Teens killed in crash near Sorek interchange: Aharon Peretz and Shira Naim, high school students returning from trip

The victims of the fatal accident on Highway 7 near the Sorek interchange are Shira Naim, a 10th grade student aged 16 from Sdeh Uziyahu, and Aharon Peretz (18), a 12th grade student from Ashdod. The two were traveling in a minibus that collided with a truck parked on the side of the road, on their way back from a trip to Jerusalem. Shira's mother, Keren, wrote: "My girl, my heart, I am shattered to pieces." In a statement, the Be'er Tuvia Regional Council said the council shares in the heavy grief of the Naim family. Five injured people arrived at Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot. Three of them were hospitalized, including one in serious condition, and two were released. At Assuta Hospital in Ashdod, three more injured people were hospitalized in moderate and light condition.
