Solberg at High Court hearing on Oct. 7 inquiry: 'What isn't extreme about the government's conduct?'

|
Deputy Supreme Court President Noam Solberg addressed Michael Rabello, the government's representative at the hearing on establishing a state commission of inquiry into October 7, and asked: 'You say the test is not the extremity of the events, but the extremity of the government—is its decision not extreme? What isn't extreme about the government's position or its conduct?' Supreme Court Justice Khaled Kabub added: 'The government decided to establish the commission only following the petitions that were filed. It's not that the government decided on its own initiative that there was a need to examine its functioning. Since then it has been dragging its feet. If it had moved forward, I'm almost certain we wouldn't be convening here.'
