Karei to Communication Ministry workers: "All advice from dismissed AG is void"

|
Minister Shlomo Karei has instructed employees of his Communication Ministry that the directives of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and her office are no longer valid because she was dismissed. In a letter sent to Communication Ministry staff, he wrote that "the instructions of legal advisers, both to the government and to the ministry, have no binding legal status. The government's legal advisory system only advises, nothing more." Karei also stated: "The government's decision came into effect immediately. I have instructed the employees of my ministry that all advice from the former Attorney General is fundamentally void and without validity." This despite the High Court ordering a freeze on her dismissal process.
