U.S. President Donald Trump's administration announced yesterday that the FBI has disrupted Hamas's online fundraising and propaganda operation, seizing cryptocurrency worth more than $560,000 and taking control of servers and domains used by the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades. According to the U.S. Department of Justice statement, the infrastructure was used by Hamas's military wing to solicit donations worldwide, transfer them outside the regular financial system and recruit new supporters. The takeover also allowed investigators to intercept additional donations and obtain information on thousands of people who contacted Hamas, donated to it or attempted to do so, in crypto and through regular payment methods.
