The Druze community in Israel, led by Sheikh Mowafak Tarif, issued an official statement regarding the attack on Druze in southern Syria. "Unfortunately, the IDF and the Israeli government, despite their explicit commitments, are not taking any substantive action to stop the killing. This represents a profound breaking point in the historical and values-based covenant between Israel and the Druze community," the statement said. "In this hour of emergency, we declare national days of mourning and a general strike across all Druze communities in Israel. Simultaneously, the community leadership calls on all members of the community to prepare with all necessary means to cross the border, with the aim of assisting their brothers being slaughtered in Syria."
