Khamenei stated that "our uranium enrichment is a key tool in the nuclear program. We won't give it up, without it the program is useless." He added that "the US wants to dismantle our nuclear program, but we won't allow it. Who are you to tell us whether we need a nuclear program or not?" The US presented the proposal to Iran last week, and recent reports indicate Tehran is expected to respond negatively.
