Calls to freeze Milibiztky's appointment to Finance Committee: 'Message of contempt toward victims'

|
In the shadow of sexual assault allegations against MK Hanoch Milibiztky (Likud), the Association of Rape Crisis Centers in Israel called to freeze his appointment as temporary chairman of the Finance Committee until the investigation against him is completed. "The Prime Minister must not ignore these suspicions, as it sends a message that rape allegations are meaningless offenses," the organization stated. The "High-Tech for Israel" forum also came out against the appointment: "A person suspected of serious sexual offenses cannot be appointed to a position while the full picture remains unclear. This sends a message of contempt toward victims, damages public trust and could undermine the public and moral stability of Israel's leadership."
