The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on X that more than ten thousand American troops, dozens of aircraft and over 12 warships are participating in the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. It was further stated that "on the first day, not a single ship managed to pass the American blockade, and six commercial vessels complied with the forces' directive to return to an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman."
