The Knesset Finance Committee approved a series of budget transfers, chief among them approximately 15 billion shekels ($4 billion) to the defense establishment. The transfer, intended for IDF procurement, was approved by the government two months ago but has been 'stuck' in the Knesset since August 2. The transfer will be carried out based on an agreement between the coalition and opposition, as required within the 90 days preceding elections. Simultaneously, the Finance Committee will be asked to approve a series of additional transfers. However, for now there is no agreement regarding an additional supplement demanded by the defense establishment in the amount of 25 billion shekels.
