The Foreign Ministry has issued a warning to Israelis staying in Ecuador, recommending extreme caution due to severe weather events. The ministry reported that authorities have declared a red alert throughout the country following the development and forecasts of the El Niño phenomenon. The ministry further stated that "Israelis staying in the country are asked to stay updated with local authorities' guidelines and to avoid staying or traveling in areas prone to flooding, landslides and water flows. It is recommended to avoid crossing rivers, streams or flooded roads, even if the water level appears low. In case of emergency, contact the local emergency center at 911, or the Israeli Embassy in Quito's emergency line at +59323971500."
