French Foreign Minister visits Greenland: 'The region is currently experiencing a new type of aggression'

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot arrived for a visit in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, to "express solidarity" with the people of Greenland and Denmark. This was announced by the French Foreign Ministry, which added that the visit "will also emphasize the depth of friendship and relations" between the parties. During the visit, Barrot toured a French warship docked at the city's port and said that "these are certainly remote regions, but today they are experiencing a new type of aggression, and that is why France is present today." U.S. President Donald Trump previously declared his desire to take control of the island which is under Danish rule.
