Syrian Security Officials: Agreement Reached on Clashes in Druze City of Jaramana

Hussam al-Tahan, head of security administration in Damascus rural area, told the official Syrian news agency SANA that "an agreement has been reached between representatives of the Druze city of Jaramana and Syrian government officials, mandating immediate handover of heavy weapons and increased deployment of general security forces (regime) in the city." According to him, "The agreement also requires the surrender of unlicensed personal weapons and restricts weapon possession to official state institutions." Recently, violent confrontations have occurred between armed groups and Druze groups in the country.
