Uproar at Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in Kazakhstan: 'Antisemitism shows its ugly face again'

|
A ceremony marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The ceremony was attended by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar and Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermak Kosherbayev, along with diplomats, government officials, parliament members, religious community leaders and university rectors in Kazakhstan. At the event, Sa'ar said: "Unfortunately, the ancient disease of antisemitism is showing its ugly face again. The new antisemitism attempts to undermine the Jewish people's right to defend themselves." He added: "This was the goal of the axis of evil that led the October 7 attack. They failed, so I say today, we have sworn - never again! This oath will not be broken."
