Tariq Zaqarneh (44), who has been in the U.S. for 13 years, was arrested more than two years ago after a court determined that his marriage to an American citizen was not in good faith, and his deportation is scheduled for next Wednesday. Immigration officials clarified that Zaqarneh will not be transferred to Israeli custody, as the U.S. has authorization to transfer him directly to the West Bank, but his representatives in court argued that on his way to the area he will necessarily be subject to 'IDF control and could face torture and harassment.'
