Former Military Intelligence chief, Maj. Gen. (res.) Tamir Heyman, delivered the opening remarks at the Security and Service Conference organized by Ynet, Yedioth Ahronoth and the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). He criticized the ultra-Orthodox parties for withdrawing from the coalition over the draft exemption law while the deaths of three soldiers were being announced, saying: "Yesterday for many hours, while that tank was burning in Jabaliya, a parallel world was operating that focused on 'how to make the best scheme to exempt some people who would never even face such a situation.'"
