Mossad chief: Iran mission not yet achieved, never thought it would be completed when fighting subsides

|
Mossad Director Dadi Barnea responded to reports claiming he misled U.S. President Donald Trump by suggesting the Iranian regime would fall in the first days of the war. Speaking at a Holocaust Remembrance Day event at Mossad headquarters, Barnea said: '40 days of intense combat have led to highly significant achievements, foremost among them a blow to the enemy's central objective - the destruction of the State of Israel. However, our mission has not yet been completed. We never thought this mission would be completed immediately when the fighting subsides, but we planned and designed our campaign to continue and manifest itself even in the period after the strikes. Our commitment will only be fulfilled when this extremist regime is replaced.'
