Former Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit continued his testimony in the Case 4000 trial at the Jerusalem District Court. During his testimony, Mandelblit admitted there was a malfunction in that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was not warned in his first interrogation in Case 4000 that he was suspected of bribery. During the hearing, Netanyahu's attorney, Amit Hadad, presented a quote attributed to Mandelblit, in which he allegedly told prosecutor Yehudit Tirosh when he learned she wanted to become a judge: 'Do you prefer to be a prosecutor in a case that will save democracy or a judge in a dictatorship?' Tirosh did not deny the quote but objected to the question. The judges ruled that the matter could be explored, but only after the defense presents the factual basis for that quote.
