Train from Sderot northward to resume operations next week after two years of disruptions and shutdowns

|
The railway line from Sderot northward will resume on September 26 after almost two years of intermittent disruptions and shutdowns due to electrification work and previously due to security directives. The line will begin upgraded operations with electric trains and shorter travel times. For example, a journey from Sderot to Tel Aviv will take only 53 minutes (instead of 1 hour and 6 minutes); from Netivot to Tel Aviv only 63 minutes (instead of 1 hour and 17 minutes) and from Ofakim to Tel Aviv only 70 minutes (instead of 1 hour and 28 minutes). In the opposite direction (north to south) travel time will be reduced even further.
