Krad was sentenced to six years in prison, and the prosecution is seeking to increase his sentence. According to the verdict, Krad accelerated his vehicle to approximately 145 km/h on Route 45, where the maximum speed limit is 90 km/h, lost control and crashed forcefully into vehicles stopped at a red light. The appeal argues that the recklessness with which Krad acted was at the highest level and almost borders on indifference, and that the sentence imposed does not reflect the full severity of the consequences of his actions.
