The vehicle that hit civilians at the Tel Sheva junction in the Negev broke through a checkpoint set up as part of the "New Order" operation and attempted to run over police officers. One of them fired at the driver, hitting him in the shoulder - he was arrested and evacuated to Soroka Hospital in moderate condition. Two police officers were lightly injured. It was later discovered that the fleeing driver had not obtained a driving license.
